MAGAZINE-FED SHOTGUNS ARE INDISPENSABLE IN DYNAMIC OPERATIONS AND SPORT SHOOTING DUE TO THE ADVANTAGE OF QUICK MAGAZINE CHANGES. HOWEVER, THE GAS MECHANISM, THE HEART OF THESE SYSTEMS, HAS BEEN A CRITICAL AREA FOR OPTIMIZATION DUE TO ADAPTATION TO DIFFERENT AMMUNITION WEIGHTS AND CLEANING CHALLENGES.
AT SALIX ARMS, WE OFFER A RADICAL SOLUTION TO THESE PROBLEMS WITH OUR "SELF-CLEANING" GAS SYSTEM.
Gas-operated semi-automatic rifles operate on the principle of using the gas pressure created by the powder in the cartridge after firing to push the mechanism back. This pressure, obtained from gas ports on the barrel, moves a piston, resetting the mechanism. However, since cartridges of different weights (from light to heavy) produce different gas pressures, conventional systems either struggle to rotate lighter cartridges or create excessive recoil with heavier cartridges.
